She presents a persona of somebody who avoids stepping on other people's toes. Recently, she was voted the new Francistown deputy mayor, deposing Rebecca Nshakazhogwe.

Out of 19 Botswana Democratic Party councillors, ten councillors voted for Esther Oarabile Mokgosi during a caucus. Nshakazhogwe managed only two votes and the other contender, nominated councillor Lamodimo Dikomang, got seven votes.

Insiders say Mokgosi's name was the last to be proposed for that position. It even took some minutes before somebody seconded her name. It was a calculated strategy by Mayor Honest Buti Billy's camp …
