Movies in the Mountains
The Southern Yosemite Automotive Film Festival starts March 21 with the great 1950s teensploitation hit Hot Rods to Hell and ends four days and 23 movies later with the racin' family film Collier & Co. But it's not all camp; among the 24 movies are many of your favorite racing classics, from Steve McQueen in Le Mans to James Garner in Grand Prix. Garner will be honored with a lifetime achievement award.
The best part about the festival is that it takes place in the Sierra foothill town of Oakhurst, California, a short drive from the entrance to Yosemite National Park. So if you don't want to see Dorf Goes Racing, you can enjoy the twists and turns of Highway 41 into the Valley. www.southernyosemite.com
