Associated Press COLOMBO, Jan. 17: Sri Lankas top strike bowlers Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas will not play in the four-match limited overs series in India next month, a cricket official said today, adding the move was to preserve the players fitness ahead of the World Cup. Sri Lankas chief selector Mr Ashantha de Mel said the two players who have had a long tour of New Zealand recently needed to be protected from injuries.
