Is Apple iGadget more style than substance?
Hyperbole works, as Apple chief executive Steve Jobs has shown many times. His claim to be reinventing the telecoms industry with a phone that is playing catch-up with rivals -- in functionality if not style -- was breathtaking, even by his standards. But the new iPhone received full-page coverage in national papers and slots on national news bulletins. The iPhone is a beautiful design, as you'd expect from Apple. It has a novel touchscreen, runs a version of the Mac OS, and can play music and video, browse the web and take pictures with its
2-megapixel camera.
