Jan. 13--Sunday will mark the premiere of the sixth longest day in Jack Bauer's life. Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland, is the Counter Terrorist Unit agent responsible for saving Los Angeles, and sometimes the rest of the country, year after year.
Each season of "24" is an intense one. Main characters are killed off. Any person in any position of the government may be a Benedict Arnold. Terrorists may be ex-government officials or the family next door. All of this happens in "real-time," an hour-by-hour depiction of a 24-hour day.
Season five began with most of the country, including Jack's co-workers and friends, believing he had died.
