As Hyundai continues to clean up in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey and expand its model line by previously unimagined numbers (eight different Hyundai models and climbing!), it might have been easy to forget the humble and ubiquitous Elantra plugging away down near the bottom of the market.
Well don't forget. The Elantra is all-new for 2007, with enough combined interior volume that the EPA now classifies it as a midsize car. Oh, how the mighty are growing. That's 112.1 cubic feet of passenger and cargo space, to be exact. To get that figure the Elantra was stretched 1.6 inches in wheelbase and 2.0 inches in height. All that space is now lined with little storage pockets, too, and has the first iPod jack ever put in a Hyundai.
The exterior is all-new too, but is still easy to lose in a crowd.
