Jan. 10--Firefighters were called early Wednesday to an intentionally set blaze at a North Highlands elementary school in what may be the work of serial arsonists. Firefighters arrived at Oakdale Elementary School at 3708 Myrtle Ave. shortly after 2:30 a.m. and found playground equipment on fire. A rolled up newspaper was recovered near the fire and at least three light poles surrounding the playground were lit, firefighters said. "We have had a series of intentional set fires at or near the school since August," Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Capt. Jeff Lynch said.
