Jan. 10--State transportation officials will study the stretch of Statesville road where five members of a family were killed in a wreck Sunday to determine whether new traffic safety measures are needed. The Lopez-Sosa family's sport utility vehicle ran off the left side of U.S. 70 east of Stamey Farm Road in rainy weather, killing all of its occupants. The vehicle crashed down a 12-foot embankment, overturned and landed in a creek.
