New Delhi, 7 January: Ahead of the ASEAN-India Summit, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday [7 January] said his government was committed to work for forging closer multi-faceted links with South East Asia and East Asia as "our destinies are truly interlinked".

Inaugurating the 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas' here, he particularly referred to Singapore as a "special friend" and said India's engagement with South East Asia was largely because of its support.
