Network dependent firms in the Philippines are still counting losses from missed business opportunities a week after an intensity 7.1 earthquake off Taiwan damaged vital undersea cable systems.

Call centers, with their real time connectivity requirements, were described as the worst hit, with sources saying almost all the 105 players - including big names such as Dell - had suffered an average two to three hours of downtime last Wednesday.
