Jan. 5--TRINIDAD - Efforts are still under way to clear county roads and get to those in need of food after the year-end storm that left many families trapped inside their homes.
Las Animas County Manager William Cordova, who is in charge of emergency efforts, said 100 care packages were delivered to area residents Wednesday.
"The boxes contain enough staples to keep a family of four fed for four or five days," he said. Military meals-ready-to-eat, or MREs, also were delivered on Wednesday.
