Joydeep Thakur KOLKATA, Dec. 30.- Duped by the political parties, dumped by the state government and civic authorities and left to rot at Nonadanga , the slum dwellers of Tollygunge-Ballygunge rail basti are now a forgotten lot. (See photograph above) These people had their homes beside the railway tracks at Lake Gardens, Dhakuria, Tollygunge and Ballygunge and were evicted by the state government last year. At a time when Kolkatans are swinging to the rhythm of Christmas parties and new year bashes, some 600 families are finding it hard to survive the chill of the winter.
