"PAY up or have your property sealed." Petaling Jaya Datuk Bandar Mohamad Roslan Sakiman said City Council records show 55,000 owners of premises had not settled assessment fees totalling RM45.8 million.

Between Dec 2 and 15, a total of RM1.18 million was collected.

In an interview with The Malay Mail yesterday, Roslan said, "We will begin hunting down the defaulters next year.

We are being too lenient." Roslan said so far, they have not sealed any property.

The council is also facing problems in tracking down the owners of certain properties.
