The morning after Christmas features discarded boxes and gift wrappers and opened Christmas card envelopes. We immediately note the decline in volume, not just of gifts, but also Christmas cards, which will continue to trickle in till Valentine's. One might presume that with the rapid changes in jobs accompanied by an unknown ability to reciprocate, many have done away with gifts altogether and shifted to cards.
