THE decision by the Ministry of Education to make local languages a medium of instruction from Primary one to three is grossly misguided.

Thus, it should not be implemented before serious scrutiny.

Uganda is one of the African countries that have been unfortunate not to have a national local language. It is very hard to find children and adults in one locality speaking the same local language. How then will the decision on which language to use in which school be taken?
