Text of report by Russian Ekho Moskvy radio on 20 December

[Presenter] The Supreme Court presidium overturned today the ruling passed earlier by the Nazran district court in Ingushetia, which changed the administrative border between Ingushetia and North Ossetia. At issue was the return to the borders of 1944, when the disputed Prigorodnyy District was part of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR [Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic].

The Supreme Court ruled that the issue is outside the competence of district courts.
