Dec. 19--DiVosta Building Corp. of Palm Beach Gardens said Monday it's laying off 218 workers in February, yet another sign of the housing market's precipitous decline. The affected workers are laborers, journeymen and apprentices and have been given 60 days' notice, said Beth Cocchiarella, a spokeswoman for Pulte Homes, which bought DiVosta in 1998. "They've all been told, so it would not be an unexpected thing following the holidays," said Cocchiarella, adding that she didn't know whether the workers would get severance packages.
