Greetings, friends, and welcome to my blog! I just got on the plane from Hartford to Bridgeport, where I'm giving a speech in front of a super group called "Connecticut Moderates for Slow, Measured Debate and Keeping a Lid on Things," and let me tell you that I'm all fired up--in a restrained way--about the gang down at CMSMDKLT! But seriously, for a moment, I'd like to say that this blog is a chance for me to reach out to the netroots, as they say, to some of the folks who feel that maybe I've been too moderate in my politics and too restrained in my understanding of the nuances in our prosecution of the war in Iraq. To them, let me just say, Please engage me in the comments section, or during one of my upcoming chats. I'm smoothsenatorjoementum on AIM, and if I'm online I'm looking for good, solid, moderate engagement on any number of moderate issues. TTYL!
