AL-IRSHAD: "Issue One! The American midterm elections! Republicans out! Democrats in! What does this mean for the future of the American war against Islam? I ask you, Most Exalted Imam Qu'Turush."
QU'TURUSH: "Honestly, two things. One, that the Bush administration simply lost sight of its main objective, which was to maintain a certain level of domestic popularity with tax cuts and small-bore initiatives in order to pursue its plans in Iraq and the Middle East in general. It was a political miscalculation."
AL-IRSHAD: "Interesting. Salil Faqtb, Islamic Revolutionary Party strategist?"
FAQTB: "As usual, Imam Qu'Turush has a great grasp on the conventional wisdom. Look, what happened in the United States a few weeks ago wasn't politics and it certainly wasn't anything the Bush administration did or did not do. It was the work of Allah, plain and simple, and the natural outcome of the lessons of His Prophet, Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him."
QU'TURUSH: "I agree, but--"
