Section: Government and Politics - The budget scrutiny committee has continued slashing national funds, this time hurting two public universities in the political stronghold of the former ruling Thai Rak Thai party, the Bangkok Post reports.
Manee Chaithiranuwatsiri, deputy spokeswoman for the budget scrutiny committee in the National Legislative Assembly, said the Education Ministry's 282-billion-baht budget for the 2007 fiscal year will be cut by a further 34.8 million baht.
