Dec. 18--Seven Episcopal churches, including two large Northern Virginia congregations, announced yesterday they are leaving the denomination and the Diocese of Virginia. Two others are expected to say today whether they are pulling out of the Episcopal Church, and two others have yet to decide. The bishop of the Diocese of Virginia has called a meeting for this afternoon of the diocese's executive board and standing committee to discuss with its lawyers the pastoral, canonical and legal obligations of the church and the diocese's responsibilities to church members not wishing to leave the denomination. The Virginia diocese is the largest of the 100 dioceses in the Episcopal Church and the splits here are being watched nationally …
