Dec. 18--When money turns up missing from a Parent Teacher Organization fund, it's easy to predict what usually happens next. Anger erupts. Parents point fingers. Despair reigns. But at Hickory Grove Elementary School in Bloomfield Township, where an undetermined amount of money has been stolen from the PTO fund, quite the opposite has happened.
"Adults have chimed in and said, 'How are we going to fix this?' That is lovely. We have shown a true sense of community," Principal Letitia Tappin said. The main goal? Raise money to replace what was stolen so the PTO can maintain some of the projects it had planned this school year.…
