Editorial: Ficano points way to a better Cobo.(Executive Bob Ficano)(Editorial)

Dec. 6--Wayne County Executive Bob Ficano deserves credit for keeping the Cobo Hall expansion idea alive. But Ficano also has been around local politics long enough to know that if he tries to claim it, the latest Cobo proposal will go the way of all the others, which is to say nowhere.

If this thing ever does happen, and it should, the record ought to reflect that Ficano dedicated two of his top-level deputies to spend more than a year developing a Cobo plan that would address all the issues raised in the past to block the needed expansion or replacement of the downtown convention center.
