Dec. 7--The Catawba County Board of Education this week unanimously approved redistricting that will shift students in the existing Sherrills Ford, Claremont and Balls Creek elementary attendance zones to accommodate the new Catawba Elementary, set to open in August. About six parents, most from the Grassy Creek neighborhood, spoke out against the plan at a public hearing Monday.
