Section: Regional News - Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam, Kari Alanko, affirmed that Vietnam has effectively used development assistance from the European Union (EU).

Addressing a launching ceremony in Hanoi on Dec. 4 for the EU's "Blue Book" on development cooperation activities from the EU in Vietnam, Alanko stressed that one of the important reasons behind donors committing to Vietnam is the country's already built-socio-economic development strategy.

The Ambassador also noted that the EU is likely to increase its assistance commitment for Vietnam in 2007, which will be officially announced at the Consultative Group …
