Dec. 4--An east Charlotte elementary school is locked down this morning as police search the surrounding area for two homicide suspects.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools officials said all doors to Greenway Park Elementary School on Monroe Road have been locked since about 9:30 a.m. A spokeswoman said classes are being held as usual inside the school, but nobody is allowed to enter the building without first showing identification.
