Sales director buys 40% stake in short-run firm Mercian Labels.

Security and short-run label specialist Mercian Labels has undergone a major change in its ownership structure after sales director Hugo Gell bought 40% of the company.

Gell has become an equal partner with managing director Adrian Steele, who also owns 40%, following the deal, which was for an undisclosed sum. An unnamed sleeping partner holds 20% of the firm, which is based in Cannock, Staffordshire.

A period of investment is now underway as the company develops its speciality in tamper-evident security labelling.
