Unrest at two of Chesapeake's UK sites could spill out across the group's 34 European factories after workers at Field Packaging Bradford and Field First Newcastle voted in favour of strike action.

The firm's European Works Council (EWC) is considering a 'day of action' across Europe after talks with management broke down when it refused to put a discussion of the disputes at the two UK sites at the top of the agenda at a meeting this week.

The results from the Bradford and Newcastle votes, which centre on a pay increase, were announced on Monday and came amid charges from Amicus that the firm had behaved in a 'bullying and intimidatory' manner over pay …
