Dec. 3--NEW HAVEN -- Santa Claus has always maintained idol status among all of us believers, but he -- and a few other easy targets -- might be teetering off the pedestal after the Connecticut Gay Men's Chorus gets through with him in their annual holiday show, "North Pole Idol," 8 p.m. Saturday at the Shubert Theater.

The show spoofs Fox television's immensely popular "American Idol" show. "We're imagining the back story behind Santa, the reindeer, and all the denizens of the North," says Music Director Winston Clark, who conceives and writes all the song parodies.
