An insurance firm linked to an MP has been suspended by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) over questions concerning security bonds for transit goods running into millions of shillings, the Nation learnt yesterday.

As a result, importers of goods destined for neighbouring countries said their property was held up at the Mombasa port as they looked for money to make arrangements to get other security bonds.

The KRA spokesperson in charge of the Southern Region, Ms Fatuma Yusuf, confirmed that the firm's license had been suspended.
