Seoul, 30 November: President Roh Moo-hyun on Thursday [30 November] appointed Baek Jong-chun, president of the Sejong Institute, as his chief secretary for unification, foreign and security policy, the presidential office Chongwadae [presidential offices] said.

Baek, a 63-year-old expert in Northeast Asian security and Korea-US relations, will succeed Song Min-soon, who has been designated as the new foreign minister. The Sejong Institute is a private think-tank dedicated to conducting research on national policies in the areas of security, …
