TNB to challenge 'debt' recovery suit.

PUTRAJAYA: Tenaga Nasional Berhad has the right to defend a suit filed by the Dungun district council in Terengganu to recover arrears in assessment for the company's power station.

Datuk Dr Cyrus Das, who was appearing for TNB, said the company could not be stopped from challenging the action just because it did not appeal against a valuation notice issued by the council.

The notice, dated May 5, 1991, said that the annual valuation of the Sultan Ismail Paka power station was RM123 million and yearly assessment was fixed at RM6.5 million.
