Rail traffic declined further in week 47, according to figures from the Association of American Railroads. Total rail traffic fell 0.4 percent year-over-year, a modest decline in comparison with the two previous weeks during which traffic fell 0.7 percent and 1.6 percent.

This week's comparison is not skewed by the Thanksgiving holiday, which came during week 47 of 2005 as well.
