Ridgefield to put school levy on Feb. 6 ballot.

Nov. 30--Ridgefield school officials have agreed to place a three-year, $10.3 million replacement levy on the Feb. 6 ballot.

If approved by voters, the maintenance and operations levy would raise $3.2 million, $3.4 million and $3.7 million to support classroom and other services in the years 2008-2010.

The projected tax rate would be $1.86 per $1,000 of assessed value, a penny below the current rate. That would be $372 per year for a $200,000 home, $744 for a home worth $400,000.

School board members finalized the levy request Tuesday night. They have reason to believe the district will rebound from two high school …
