Section: General News - The baht continued to gain on November 27 as the dollar weakened, despite Bank of Thailand proposals of new measures to facilitate capital outflows and ease pressure on the currency, currency dealers said, the Bangkok Post reports.

The baht closed at 36.39/42, its highest rate in more than eight years, compared with 36.43/45 to the dollar at the market's opening and 36.48/51 on Friday. During the day, it hit 36.39 to a dollar.

Nitaya Pibulratanagit, assistant governor for Financial Market Operations, said the central bank had sent the Finance Ministry two measures for approval aimed at easing pressure …
