TACOMA, Wash. _ The first sign came when the little girls started shrieking. The guess here is that little girls don't often shriek at minor-league-baseball news conferences.
Usually, they don't care to attend. Or even get the option to attend. So this was an odd day. Refreshingly odd.
"I wouldn't be here if my aunt didn't work here," one girl, about 10, whispered to another.
"Yeah, you have to be invited," her friend replied.
