OTTAWA -- Canada's Vancouver-area ports have approved their planned integration into a single port authority.
The boards of directors for the Vancouver Port Authority, Fraser River Port Authority, and North Fraser port on Monday approved a report they had commissioned by a consultant tasked to find ways to capture a larger share of growing trans-Pacific trade.
The federal minister of transport, Lawrence Cannon, who asked the ports to merge, has received the report and is expected to grant implementation.
