Section: Government and Politics - Thai Petrochemical Industry Pcl (TPI) founder Prachai Leophairatana has stepped down as secretary-general of the new Pracharaj party to return to business, the Bangkok Post reports.

Mr Prachai said he quit the post after completing his mission of toppling the government of Thaksin Shinawatra.

He brushed aside rumours of internal rifts, saying he remains a member of the four-month-old party.

''After a new constitution is drafted and the country returns to democracy without any vote-buying, I may consider making a comeback,'' he said.
