Nov. 25--RIVERBANK -- A Viva la escuela! Long live the school!

After nearly two years of negotiations, the Riverbank Unified School District approved a dual-language charter school this week.

Riverbank Language Academy will open next fall on the Rio Altura Elementary School grounds.

Formerly rocky negotiations between academy proponents and the school district ended successfully Tuesday night, when trustees unanimously approved a petition for the school.
