A couple of months ago board mills were stuffing their warehouses wilth all the OCC they could find. As you might recall, the July 4th weekend was four days. So OCC prices spiked. With Labor Day just around the corner you would think they would be doing this again. Not so by a long shot. Domestic board mills are frill of inventory already. They're telling their suppliers that they can't pick up any more material, even with the upcoming long weekend. Or they're telling them to cut back on orders. Sloppy is a word you hear often nowadays.
"Chicago board mills are really full and are holding off on many noncontractual tons they accepted in the past," states one supplier …
