Nov. 17--The story of a 9-year old girl, who, like Cinderella, was forced to do chores for her first adoptive family and beaten if she didn't, had a happy ending Thursday.
All smiles and giggles, the girl received new parents and a loving home after a lifetime of misery.
"We do feel like a family," the girl's new father said as he patted her gently on the back.
The girl is one of hundreds of foster children in Milwaukee County whose adoptions are being celebrated in Wisconsin this week as part of National Adoption Day on Saturday.
