Nov. 18--Mobile homes didn't have a chance against the swirling monster that struck Columbus County. Despite three decades of manufacturing and installation improvements, the mobile homes in the path of Thursday's tornado were blown to bits.
The tragedy is that, without warning of the storm, the people inside those homes didn't have a chance, either. Continued research to improve storm warnings deserves the support of national leaders.
