At 0814 gmt Iranian radio began a live broadcast of Tehran Friday prayer sermons led by Hojjat ol-Eslam Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani at Tehran University campus.

Rafsanjani started the first sermon by exhorting worshipers to observe piety. He devoted the entire sermon to religious matters explaining how during the life of imam Sadeq, the Shi'i branch of Islam went through a change. He gave a historical account of event and the role of Imam Sadeq in bringing reforms in the society and the political system of the time.
