The third issue of AARL for 2006 contains four articles and two conference reports. Toby Burrows contributes a thought-provoking article that examines the role of electronic journals in making the research output of universities more readily available. Two contributions continue those in the previous issue. Michael Middleton's article uses case studies of scientific and technological information services to examine discipline formation in information management, and builds on his history and development of scientific and technological information services in Australia published in the June 2006 issue of AARL.
