OOCL container business improves. Parent group resumes common-stock dividend.

After an extended period of restructuring and reorganization, Orient Overseas (International) Ltd. is back to financial health.

The Hong-kong-based parent of Orient Overseas Container Line, reported higher profits for 1993 and said its improved financial condition has allowed resumption of ordinary dividends after a nine-year interruption.

The group said its core container business is expected to improve this year. The company recently ordered six new containerships whose capacity, 4,950 TEUs each, will be the world's largest.
