Nov. 12--Television cables: to buy or not to buy?

Once you have the HD set-top box from the cable or satellite company, you'll also need the correct cords to connect the box to the TV.

You can buy these necessary wires at electronics retailers, hanging on shelves right next to the TV, and many times for big bucks.

But do you really need to make the purchase?

Bottom line: It depends on your setup.

Usually, cable and satellite TV providers will give for free up to 6 feet of cable necessary to connect a set-top to a TV.
