WPP is planning to draw its BatesAsia and David networks more closely together and may even combine the operations in several regional markets.

It is expected that the two operations, both of which are overseen by Ogilvy & Mather, will stay separate in Singapore. Digby Richards, the David regional chief executive, said: 'There have been some talks, but nothing is definite yet.'
