ICI's National Starch and Chemical subsidiary says it plans to build a new redispersible powder polymers facility in China for its Elotex business unit. The new plant, scheduled to begin operations in 2008, will have production capacity of about 20,000 tons/year. ICI says it is in the process of selecting the plant's location.

Elotex supplies redispersible powder polymers and performance additives used in several dry-mix construction applications, including cement mortars and ceramic tile adhesives, flooring compounds, exterior insulation finishing systems and thermal insulation systems, plasters and renders, and tape-joint compounds.
