ATI Technologies Inc. last week started shipping a low-cost 64-bit graphics board that will work with either Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) or VESA local bus systems.

A version of the board for the ISA bus is scheduled to be introduced a few weeks later.

The Graphics Xpression board, priced at $299, is based on ATI's mach64CX graphics chip and uses 2MB of DRAM rather than the more expensive video RAM (VRAM) memory.
