Borland International Inc. will announce and ship its Sidekick for Windows personal information manager on June 20 under a new Simplify brand name, sources at the company said.

Sidekick for Windows uses a desktop metaphor, and includes a calendar, card file, and structured flat-file database. A Quick Menu utility puts an icon on the menu bar of any Windows application, giving users one-button access to Sidekick. The product can import data from dBase, Paradox, Sidekick 2.0 for DOS, and ASCII files. It lacks the telecommunications component of Sidekick for DOS but can launch Microsoft Terminal or any other application, sources said.
